Office of the CEO: Special Projects

About Paradromics
We are building a direct data interface with the brain to provide technology solutions to unmet medical challenges. A revolutionary leap beyond today’s research-grade brain computer interfaces (BCI), our Connexus® Direct Data Interface (DDI) collects neural signals at an industry-leading high data-rate and is designed for long-term daily use. Our first clinical application will enable severely motor-impaired people to communicate and independently use a computer, translating their neural signals into synthesized speech, text, and cursor control. We will continue to expand the capabilities of our massively scalable platform to support a pipeline of future applications that could benefit millions.

As we continue to scale, we are looking for a driven, sharp, and execution-oriented individual to join the Office of the CEO: Special Projects—a fast-paced, high-impact role designed for someone who thrives on dynamic challenges and wants a front-row seat to the intersection of deeptech, venture capital, and strategic decision-making.

The Role
This is an opportunity to work directly with the CEO and Founder of an exciting deeptech company. You will be in the room for the most exciting conversations and the most important decisions. The goal of this role is to offload complex, high-value projects that slip through the cracks of the organization and end up on the plate of the CEO.

This role is ideal for a highly ambitious professional with a STEM background and business mindset.  It is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong desire to break into deeptech, venture capital, or startup leadership. You will work closely with the CEO on high-stakes external-facing projects, including investor relations, market research, thought-leadership content, and strategic initiatives.

This is not a traditional, structured role—it is fast-moving, high-pressure, and often complex. You will be expected to figure things out, challenge assumptions, and push execution forward—sometimes at odd hours. If you want a highly structured job, this isn’t it. If you want unparalleled exposure to deeptech, investors, and high-level decision-making, this is the role for you.

Responsibilities
External Communications & Thought Leadership
  • Conduct rapid, deep research on industry trends, emerging technologies, and investor concerns to support the company’s strategic positioning.
  • Work with top leadership to develop early-stage investor and partnership materials, refining key messages before passing off to the marketing team for finalization.
  • Engage with company leadership, KOLs, collaborators, and partners during the formative stages of strategic projects.
  • Work with the CEO to draft high-quality, long-form thought-leadership content (blogs, white papers, op-eds) on neurotech and deeptech topics.

Investor Relations & Market Research
  • Track and manage investor interactions, researching funds and key decision-makers before meetings.
  • Attend select investor meetings alongside the CEO, listen for concerns, and help develop targeted follow-up strategies.
  • Work with technical team members to extract insights for investor-facing projects.
  • Conduct secondary research on competitors, industry trends, and regulatory shifts to inform high-level decision-making.

Strategic & Special Projects
  • Work with internal teams across engineering, regulatory, and business functions to develop strategy documents that align with investor expectations.
  • Represent the CEO in preliminary investor and partnership discussions—filtering opportunities before the CEO engages.
  • Take tactical follow-up meetings after high-level partnership discussions, ensuring momentum and execution.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics field. MBA preferred.
  • Ability to plug into dense material across a range of topics.
  • 2+ years of experience in consulting, venture capital, investment banking, startup, or other relevant business experience. This can’t be your first gig out of academia, and you need to come in with a goal-oriented, business mindset.
  • Extroverted, high-energy, high EQ
  • Exceptional writing ability—able to synthesize complex technical topics into clear, persuasive content.
  • Scrappy and adaptable—thrives in an environment with little structure and rapidly shifting priorities.
  • Quantitatively sharp—capable of learning financial modeling (e.g., DCFs)
  • Good communication under pressure—requires strategic thinking and strong communication skills when in high-stakes conversations.
  • Abnormal Hours: Can be long hours. Evening/weekend availability is expected. Last-minute high-priority requests are unavoidable.
  • Up to 25% travel

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working directly with investors, VC firms, or deeptech startups.
  • Background in journalism, science communication, or public relations.
  • Strong network in venture capital, biotech, or emerging technology sectors.
